"In Texas we negotiate in good-faith, work together, seek out public input, budget within our means with an eye to next generation, and let legislation advance based on the merits of the ideas. These are the ingredients for a functional government and effective public policy solutions. After weeks of duplicitous negotiations from Democrat Leadership, today’s massive spending bill lumped together many of Washington’s worst traits to spend $328 billion buried in 1,200 pages with less than 24 hours to review.
If we are going to get our nation back on track – we need to change the way Washington operates and bring the same solutions we have pioneered here in Texas to the United States Congress. By having fact based conversations focused on solutions instead of political gamesmanship, we can budget responsibly, secure our border, and get Congress back to serving the people."
