“There is no doubt our nation faces many challenges, and that we often disagree on the best path forward. However, the State of the Union gives us the unique opportunity to not only outline our goals for the coming year, but to identify those issues in which we may build consensus.

Tonight, the President reminded us that extraordinary bipartisan accomplishments are possible and I couldn't agree more. My first month in office has proven there are many issues that bring us together as Americans. I know my freshmen colleagues, both Democrats and Republicans, can lead by example and bring about real, tangible changes to Washington."
