On Saturday, Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) honored fifteen local veterans with the 2021 Congressional Veterans Commendation (CVC) and was joined by hundreds of Collin County residents.

Following the ceremony Representative Taylor said, "It was humbling to watch our community come together to honor and thank these fifteen local veterans who truly embody the meaning of service before self. Not only have these individuals bravely served in our nation's armed forces, but they continue to dedicate themselves to the betterment of those around them. Their leadership and sacrifices do not go unnoticed and I'm grateful we were able to celebrate their accomplishments."

Keynote speaker, Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18) shared his incredible story of sacrifice as he served twelve years in the U.S. Army and while working as a bomb disposal expert under the elite Joint Special Operations Command in Afghanistan lost of both legs due to an improvised explosive device.
