WASHINGTON - This week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) with the 2020 Spirit of Enterprise Award, given in recognition of his support for pro-business legislation and promotion of economic growth policies in the first session of the 116th Congress.

Congressman Taylor said, "Collin County is home to thousands of free enterprises which are the backbone of our local economy. I am proud of my record in helping to sustain economic growth and create jobs, both in North Texas and across our nation. I want to personally thank each local Chamber – none of this would be possible without your hard work and dedication to our community. While I am honored to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award, there is still much to be done to ensure the entrepreneurial spirit of American businesses does not falter as a result of COVID-19."

The Chamber’s prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award is presented annually to members of Congress based on the Chamber’s How They Voted scorecard. The Chamber’s scorecard includes Congressman Taylor’s voting record on pro-business legislation, in addition to his commitment to work efficiently across the aisle with his Democratic counterparts.

President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Thomas J. Donohue, shared, “In these uncertain times with daunting economic and social challenges facing our nation, it is imperative that leaders in Washington are focused on propelling American businesses forward to create jobs and economic growth from California to Maine. As we rebuild our economy, legislators must lead by pursuing bipartisan solutions that create jobs and promote a free enterprise system. I’m proud to recognize Congressman Taylor for his commitment to driving opportunity and prosperity in America’s workforce and on Main Streets across the nation.”
