PLANO - While Texans and Americans across the nation continue to combat the coronavirus pandemic, Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) today announced an initiative to recognize those in Collin County who are helping their fellow neighbor and making a difference in their community.
Congressman Taylor said, "I have been truly humbled by the healthcare providers, first responders, educators, small businesses, volunteers, grocery workers, delivery drivers, caregivers, and so many others who have gone above and beyond to help during this time. These acts of courage, generosity, and simple kindness do not go unnoticed."
He continued, "For every painful story shared with me, I hear another about someone in our community who has risked their own health and safety or gone out of their way to help a friend, neighbor, or in many instances, a stranger. While we are facing a threat unlike any we have ever experienced in our lifetimes, it's important to recognize our Hometown Heroes and I look forward to reading and sharing stories from our neighbors here in Collin County."
Those who wish to share a positive story with Congressman Taylor and nominate a Hometown Hero can do so at VanTaylor.house.gov/Heroes
. Residents are encouraged to include links to articles, social media posts, videos, and photos to accompany their submissions.
A 7th generation Texan, Van Taylor is a dedicated family man, successful businessman, and decorated Marine Officer. Taylor served Collin County both in the Texas House and Senate. Today, Taylor is proud to serve on the House Committee on Financial Services.
