Congressman Taylor Announces 2020 Congressional Art Competition

PLANO - U.S. Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) today announced the 2020 Congressional Art Competition for Texas’ Third Congressional District is now underway. The winning artist’s work will be displayed in the national exhibition in Washington, DC.

Congressman Van Taylor said, "I'm excited to once again host the Congressional Art Competition and recognize the incredibly talented artists who call Texas' Third Congressional District home."

The Congressional Art Competition was created in 1982. To date, hundreds of thousands of high school students throughout the country have participated. The winning artist’s work will be displayed for one year in the national exhibition in the Cannon Tunnel, a pedestrian walkway leading the U.S. Capitol. In addition, the first-place winner will receive airfare for two to Washington, DC where they can view their artwork in the exhibition and take part in a reception honoring their achievement.

The second place winner will have their artwork displayed in Congressman Taylor’s Washington, DC office and the third place winner will have their artwork displayed in Congressman Taylor’s district office in Collin County.

All artwork and signed release forms must be brought to Congressman Taylor's Collin County office no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Late submissions will not be accepted.

A 7th generation Texan, Congressman Van Taylor is a dedicated family man, successful businessman, and decorated Marine Officer. Taylor served Collin County both in the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate. Today, Taylor is proud to serve on the House Committee on Financial Services.
