U.S. Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) today announced details for his annual Valentines for Veterans outreach program in Collin County.
PLANO – U.S. Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) today announced details for his annual Valentines for Veterans outreach program in Collin County.
The week of February 14 is recognized as National Salute to Veteran Patients week, and provides Americans the opportunity to honor and thank veterans across the country. Specifically, the program aims to increase community awareness of the critical role VA medical centers, outpatient clinics, domiciliaries, and nursing homes play in the treatment and care of our nation’s veterans and encourage citizens to reach out to hospitalized veterans.
During this time, Congressman Taylor encourages Collin County students to create valentines that will be hand-delivered to veterans at the VA North Texas Healthcare System in Dallas.
Congressman Van Taylor said, “Our veterans have made incredible sacrifices for each and every one of us. Taking the time to show our gratitude on Valentine's Day is a simple act of kindness that can have a great impact on our local veterans."
For schools with more than 200 valentines wishing to arrange a pick up, please contact Congressman Van Taylor’s office prior to Friday, February 7, 2020. For those schools with fewer valentines, please mail them to or drop them off at Congressman Van Taylor’s office at the address provided below. Congressman Taylor’s office must receive all cards prior to Tuesday, February 11, 2020 to ensure delivery.
