WASHINGTON - Today, United States Congressman Van Taylor (R-TX-03) joined a bipartisan group of Members from the Texas Congressional Delegation to urge House Leadership to pass the United States - Mexico - Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Congressman Van Taylor said, "This agreement means a lot, particularly to my district - I’ve got technology companies, I’ve got manufacturing companies, I’ve got corporate headquarters, all of which will benefit from the trade agreement we are looking at in front of us." He went on, "I’m excited to support it. I’m excited to stand with my Republican and Democrat colleagues from Texas to say - let’s pass this deal now!”

Estimates show trade with Mexico and Canada supports eleven million jobs in the United States, with nearly a million of those jobs located in Texas. North American trade accounts for approximately $1.3 trillion in U.S. exports annually, over $120 billion from Texas alone.

The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement preserves and strengthens the benefits of North American trade for American workers, businesses, and consumers.

Following the press conference in Washington, the Frisco and Plano Chambers of Commerce voices their support.

"Trade with Mexico and Canada is not only a critical component of our local economy but is responsible for the livelihood of countless Frisco workers and their families. Frisco is already an international city, as is the entire region, and is poised to grow even more so in the years ahead. International trade is crucial for our continued growth and development. In Congress, Representative Taylor has been resolute in his efforts to get the USMCA implemented and we are excited to stand with him as the voice of business in Frisco.” - Tony Felker; President/CEO, Frisco Chamber of Commerce

“Plano is home to some of the most innovative companies in the world – companies that share their products and services across the globe. Congressman Taylor knows without access to foreign markets these local companies cannot continue to grow and create jobs right here in Plano. We are proud to join him in urging Congress to support passage and implementation of the USMCA.” - Kelle Marsalis; President/CEO, Plano Chamber of Commerce

A 7th generation Texan, Congressman Van Taylor is a dedicated family man, successful businessman, and decorated Marine Officer. Taylor served Collin County both in the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate. On November 6, 2018, Van Taylor was elected to represent Texas’ 3rd Congressional District in the United States Congress.
