WASHINGTON - Last week, U.S. Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) recognized Allen Independent School District on the Floor of the House of Representatives for being named a District of Distinction by District Administration Magazine.

Allen ISD was one of thirty-four school districts in the entire nation to receive this prestigious award. The brand-new STEAM Center was the highlight of their award. Students of all ages in Allen have been able to receive a hands-on learning experience that is inspiring them to study more science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

Congressman Taylor said, “The brand-new facility offers students with hands-on learning experiences ranging from indoor robotics labs to outdoor discovery gardens." He continued, "I ask that my colleagues join me today in congratulating Allen ISD, their staff, parents, and students on being named a ‘District of Distinction’ and commend them on their dedication to cultivating a passion in students for learning more about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics."
