Today, January 16, 2019, Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) delivered inaugural remarks on the House Floor for the 116th Congress. In honoring his predecessor, U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson, Congressman Taylor stated, "He never wavered in his patriotism, in his faith in God, in his courage, in his sacrifice and commitment to this country. And for that, America is eternally grateful for his service." He continued, "And here in the United States Congress he served for 28 years. He served on the Ways and Means Committee and continued to be an icon of virtue, paragon of service, a man whose shoes I can never truly fill but in whose footsteps I resolve to try to walk in." Taylor served Collin County both in the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate.
