WASHINGTON - On Thursday, United States Congressman Van Taylor (R-TX-03) sent a letter to Assistant Secretary of Consular Affairs at the United State State Department regarding the removal of the Collin County District Clerk’s office from the U.S. State Department’s acceptable passport facilities.

Congressman Van Taylor said, "Access to convenient, timely passport services is something Collin County residents rely on every day. It's important the State Department understand how the closure of these two Passport Acceptance Facilities impact my constituents in Texas' Third Congressional District."

The letter, which can be found here, states "I am concerned many of my constituents will now have reduced access to passport services because of this closure." It continues, "Mr. Assistant Secretary, I am writing to bring this matter to your attention and to ask that you consider the effect this decision will have on my community’s access to important passport services."

A 7th generation Texan, Congressman Van Taylor is a dedicated family man, successful businessman, and decorated Marine Officer. Taylor served Collin County both in the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate. On November 6, 2018, Van Taylor was elected to represent Texas’ 3rd Congressional District in the United States Congress.
